State of the City Update from West Des Moines

Ryan L. Moffatt, AICP is the Community and Economic Development Director for the City of West Des Moines. He is passionate about the community he serves and enjoys the hard work necessary to create a more economically diverse and vibrant city that emphasizes quality of life and a business-friendly environment. Ryan is responsible for leading a dedicated team that works to grow the economy of the city by facilitating various development and redevelopment initiatives, improve the quality and access to attainable housing, and market the community to  new and expanding businesses.

He previously worked as an Economic Development Coordinator and Senior City Planner for the City of Des Moines and has over 20 years of urban planning and community development experience. Ryan holds a degree in Community and Regional Planning from Iowa State University and a Master’s of Public Administration from Drake University.
