This fall we will be hosing a boy exchange student and are still looking for host families.  If you are in the WDM school district district and have a high school age boy you would be the perfect candidate!

This week's program

Matt Schultz Secretary of State

Matt is a 1997 Valley graduate, and the current secretary of state.  His office oversees all of the business filings in the state, totaling about $4-6 million dollars in fees.  The largest fee they collect is around $50.  In addition, they regulate all of the state's notaries, and have recently undertaken the task of beginning a mechanic's lein registry.  Mr. Schultz is the chief election consultant for the state.

One thing his office has begun to work on is smart phone applications to make the voting process easier for people using smart phones. In addition, his office is working with Rock the Vote on encouraging young people to vote.  One of Mr. Schult'z main goals is to better streamline business filings and provide all services online.
